Your Independence Day

July 2, 2012

It’s the Monday of a holiday week and I bet you are already thinking of your day off on Wednesday. That’s human nature. We long for our Friday’s, yearn for our holidays, live for our vacations. There are many reasons for this but a lot of it has to do with that during those times we can do what we really want to do. We are not beholden to our jobs. Our time is our time.

But what if we incorporated what we want to do into our “have to” life?

You can, you know.

It can take a variety of forms – from finding your passions and making time in your life for them, to finding your calling and making a life out of it. And there are a myriad of possibilities in between.

So how do you get to there? You certainly can do it yourself. But most of us need a little support that can come in the form of a group, or a coach or mentor, or perhaps a get away, a retreat to get us started. If it’s the latter, we have just the thing for you and it’s right around the corner.

Join Cathy Shap, Dave DeGolyer and Terry Price for the “It’s Not Just Creative Writing, It’s Creative Living, Come Play With Us” Writer’s Retreat in New Harmony, Indiana August 13-17, 2012. Get away to a utopian community where you will have time to write, listen to sessions on how to connect with who you are and where you should be, learn how to use a labyrinth for creativity and for life, experience yoga on a whole new level and be immersed into a new community of creatives. For more information, go to  If you would like to hear and see Dave, Cathy, and Terry talk about the retreat then go to and click for a fun video. For additional information you can email , , and

We’re thinking independence this week. Now let’s do something about it.
